Assisted the Chief Executive to engage the whole senior management group of 200 in a re-think of how the organisation needs to work to achieve its goals in a reduced market and changed environment; advised on the design of a new strategy for people to address the consequences.

Developed and supported the implementation of a process to re-shape the organisation from a functional focus to a market-driven Business Unit focus in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment.

Designed and implemented a process to merge two formerly competing businesses with very different cultures whilst maintaining morale, customer satisfaction and business performance.
Systems Change Consequences
Designed and monitored the implementation of a change implementation strategy to address the people and organisation implications of a $50m ERP systems project. Developed and implemented a team building process for the project team.
Communications Strategy
Designed and supported the implementation of a way to communicate business strategy to the whole workforce and to develop a programme of change to help make the strategy work. This involved, first, a 'listening' programme to understand what issues the executives, the management and the workforce thought should be addressed; then a process of integrating their contribution into the programme of change.
Organisational Effectiveness
Undertook an organisational benchmarking process to compare how different international consumer goods companies addressed the organisational and management processes involved in responding to the challenges of the rapidly changing Asia-Pacific market. Used the outputs to develop a change agenda for the sponsoring company.
Management Effectiveness
For the chairman of a global consumer group, assessed the impact that Group policies and behaviour was having on managerial effectiveness and behaviour in local operating companies throughout the world; subsequent changes in management style led to improved performance, sharper focus on the key business drivers and changed attitudes towards international management development.
Accountability for Performance
For a retail bank, clarified and redefined where accountability for performance and business decision making lay and how it should be measured and rewarded. Clarified what should be the appropriate relationship between the line and the support functions. Developed and introduced a performance management approach covering 11,000 managers.
